Guide Lines for Team Captains

Steve Wall Mid-Shropshire Fixture SecretaryFor those who do not know me my name is Steve Wall and I took over from Stuart Duncan in October 2006 as Fixture Secretary as well as the web master. I have spent a lot of time since taking up the post, putting the league together for the 2007 season, as well as introducing a new system via www.leaguebowls.com for the recording of all the match results. I have been playing bowls for almost 20 years many of which has been as team captain for Albrighton and I am hoping that this experience will help me in managing the forthcoming fixtures.

To be fair to all 84 teams and 1008 players who play in the Mid-Shropshire League each week. It is important that the league tables are updated in a timely fashion, it is essential that team captains help me to ensure all matches are played on time and the results are accuratley recorded and returned. The following guide lines have been put together from my experience as a team captain and I hope that they will help Captains who find them in resolving a problem that may have an affect on the outcome of a fixture or from incurring a fine for their Club.

Result Cards back to top

Once theResult Card is signed by both the captains the individual player results will stand.

On the occasion when team captains enter an incorrect match aggregate on the result card this will be corrected automatically when the data is entered into the database, if this affects the outcome of a match the clubs involved will be informed.

It is the responsibilty of the Home Team to post the scorcard to the Fixture Secretary and it will be the home club who will be fined if it arrives late.

Cards should arrive no later than 3 days after a fixture has been played.
